چکیده

Horikoshi, Koki (The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan), and Yonosuke Ikeda. Trehalase in conidia of Aspergillus oryzae. J. Bacteriol. 91:1883-1887. 1966.-Trehalases (soluble trehalase and coat-bound trehalase) were found in the conidia of Aspergillus oryzae, and the total activity of the trehalases increased during the germination process. The soluble trehalase was purified by diethylaminoethyl-cellulose column chromatography; its optimal pH, Michaelis constant, and heat stability were studied. In vitro, the trehalases were competitively inhibited by d-mannitol, which was also contained in the conidia. Since the trehalose content in the conidia decreased at an early stage of germination, it was assumed that trehalase might begin to hydrolyze trehalose after the inhibitory effect of d-mannitol decreased.

Visualizing nuclear migration during conidiophore development in Aspergillus nidulans and Aspergillus oryzae: multinucleation of conidia occurs through direct migration of plural nuclei from phialides and confers greater viability and early germination in Aspergillus oryzae.

Nuclear migration is indispensable for normal growth, differentiation, and development, and has been studied in several fungi including Aspergillus nidulans and Neurospora crassa. To better characterize nuclear movement and its consequences during conidiophore development, conidiation, and conidial germination, we performed confocal microscopy and time-lapse imaging on A. nidulans and Aspergill...

Induction of enzymes in dormant spores of Aspergillus oryzae.

In dormant conidia of Aspergillus oryzae, alpha-amylase, invertase, and glucose dehydrogenase were induced by their respective inducers. Neither germination nor swelling occurred during this period.

Further Observations on the Carbon Dioxide Incorporation into Rna in the Early Phase of Conidia Germination in Aspergillus Oryzae with Special Reference to Soluble Rna Synthesis'

In the previous paper reported by ONO et al. (1), ribosomal RNA (rRNA) was found to be synthesized starting from the very initial period of germination of Aspergillus oryzae conidia as revealed by the fractionation of nucleic acids extracted from conidia which had been germinated in the presence of 14CO2. They also pointed out that soluble RNA (sRNA) was actively synthesized after 45 min of ger...

Taka-amylase A in the conidia of Aspergillus oryzae RIB40.

A study of Taka-amylase A of conidia from Aspergillus oryzae RIB40 was done. During the research, proteins from conidia and germinated conidia were analyzed using SDS-PAGE, 2-D gel electrophoresis, Western blot analysis, MALDI-TOF Mass spectrometry, and native-PAGE combined with activity staining of TAA. The results showed that TAA exists not only in germinated conidia but also in conidia. Some...
